Quincunx

Definition

A quincunx is a minor aspect of one hundred fifty degrees between two planets. It is also called the inconjunct because the two planets share neither element nor modality nor sign-polarity: they sit in signs that cannot easily speak to each other. The aspect describes adjustment without resolution: a relationship that has to be negotiated rather than solved, because no common ground exists from the start.

In context

If natal Mars sits in Aries and natal Saturn sits in Virgo, the two form a quincunx across one hundred fifty degrees. The chart describes a pattern where the way you initiate action and the way you build structure cannot agree on terms: each request from one demands an unrelated answer from the other. The quincunx rarely shouts. It accumulates, and asks for ongoing micro-adjustments rather than a single clean choice.
