Configuration
Definition
A configuration is a pattern formed by three or more planets in aspect with each other, where the combined geometry behaves as a single unit rather than as separate two-planet contacts. The configuration has its own name, its own dynamic, and its own way of organizing the chart. Modern astrology recognizes a handful of named configurations, each with a recurring story.
In context
If three planets in your chart form a configuration like a t-square or a grand trine, they no longer read as three independent aspects but as one shape with three voices. The configuration becomes a center of gravity in the chart and tends to organize the rest of the reading around itself. Identifying configurations early saves a reader from tracing the same patterns in pieces.
