04:40, mirror hour

Four hours and forty minutes: 04:40. The four of the hour reappears in the forty of the minutes, the same digit moved up to the tens place. A reversed mirror hour in the late night, twenty minutes before the five o'clock mark.

Eight again, but this hour shows it mirrored rather than repeated. The four leaves the hour slot and returns in the tens, same digit, ten times the place value. That is the whole reading: the thing you sent out does not come back the size you sent it. Twenty minutes short of five, the night is nearly spent.
